Set out for our cruise on Sat 11th Sept 2001, flying into MIA to catch a connecting flight to San Juan PR. This long 22hour journey was the worst part of our cruise - we all thought so, due to the amount of time spent in transit; by the time we got to our hotel 'Caribe Hilton' about 9:15pm, we were too tired and hungry to really appreciate or explore the area, we weren't missing much since there wasn't really anything nearby. Nor could we be bothered to take a taxi to Old San Juan; plus we had torrential rain within the first half hour so we ate in the restaurant attached to the Honours towers - decent food, but very pricey! Our rooms were decent - we were on the 15th floor which allowed amazing views of the private beach/sea/coastline. We had two double beds, nice size bathroom with crab tree & Evelyn goodies, walk-in shower with two types of head - one massive one attached to the celling and another more standard one.

SAN JUAN, PR: I woke up early to catch the sunrise over the beautiful grounds @ the Caribe Hilton - it was worth it! The tropical garden, sun deck, cabana's, hammocks, pool area and beach are amazingly peaceful and empty at 6am so you can really explore without anyone else there.

The transfer to the port was smooth and we had a funny driver, we left the hotel at about 1pm. On arrival at the port of San Juan, approx 1:15-1:20pm we were greeted by massive queues, but RC staff directed me & my bro to the Diamond check-in counters as the others we very full. We were checked in and on-board by 1:45pm - very, very quick!!! Our staterooms were available from 2pm, and our luggage arrived fairly quick, I think by 4pm; our parents luggage came a bit later at about 5:15pm.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E3

staterooms 7620 & 7628 - okay, smallish compared to standard hotel rooms, shower is tiny!!! Ladies, don't even think about trying to shave legs in there we only used our shower once instead used the showers in the spa instead - totally empty most of the time, they provide their own unlimted towels too.

No flat screen as shown on website - standard old fashioned TV, that was on its way out, so assume they will be replacing them soon...

Decent location not too far from centrum but far enough away for it to be quiet, did not hear much noise at all, even from neighbours next door.

Balconies were decent, can probably fit two/four people seated.
