We embarked at Marmaris ( Dalaman was the airport we flew into )on the 23rd August and had no problems with luggage or checking in procedures because we had booked a suite and were fast tracked through , which was just as well because we were exhausted from getting up at 2 a.m in the morning. Could have done without the photographs of us looking wilted and tired from travelling before we got on the ship. Got to our room and were pleased with the size and facilities and met our cabin steward who straight away asked if he could do anything further to help so we used the 24 hour ironing service that was available to customers who had booked a suite. Items came back immaculate in time for the gala dinner.

The dining was superb, especially on the Gala night and we always went to the Meridian restaurant in the evening as the 6 course meals were excellent and there was always lots of choice, even for children. Our daughter was made a fuss of and the chefs and waiters were always accommodating and cooked her something special as she has an egg and nut allergy. We did not feel the need to try the a la carte restaurant as the Meridian offered a really high standard. The pace of dining was good; we weren't rushed along nor did we have to wait a long time for each course. Breakfast and lunch were mostly spent in the Lido restaurant which offered a good range of very tasty food , served by a happy staff who were keen to help.

Our room service was also excellent and we had no problems with the accommodation that other people seemed to have. we were very comfortable , slept really well , towels were changed and clean every day and off-white ( cream ) to go with the decor which some people might mistake for something else. The toilet worked ; there was an occasional delay sometimes with the flushing which we put down to the vacuum system and this sometimes was more noticeable when the ship was leaving port ( presumably energy was diverted elsewhere) but it did eventually flush of its own accord. Every evening we had fruit , flowers , or fruit covered chocolate & marzipan delivered to our door before dinner which was a really nice touch. This was probably because of the category of the room we booked. We have been on the Thomson Destiny and Sapphire (before it was decommissioned )and never had this as part of the service.

Cabin Review

Cabin 059. Great space , comfortable bed , good view with 2 windows. Bathroom could do with re-tiling but kept very clean and of acceptable standard.
