My wife and I recently sailed on the Carnival Fascination. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, but there were problems with the cabin that should have been rectified by the attendant.

The hand basin was slow to drain, and we had to call housekeeping to get it fixed. On the third day of the cruise, when it was taking about 20 minutes to empty, my wife finally called housekeeping to complain. They had a plumber there within half an hour and the basin worked properly after that. Was the attendant not cleaning it and seeing how slowly it was draining?

Also, the restroom always smelled as if it was not being properly cleaned. The last evening of the cruise, we noticed that the housekeeper was using the same bucket of water to mop the restroom floors in all the cabins of his responsibility. That's fine if you are in the first couple of cabins to be cleaned, but down at the end of his "run," PHEW! Perhaps housekeeping procedures should be reviewed aboard.
