This was our first visit to Hawaii and enjoyed the islands. We rented cars on Maui and Kauai doing much more the the cruise excursions which just went from one point to the next. We were able to cover more time and see more of Hawaii. Well, now lets talk about the ship. We are the type of people that would overlook certain things in order to make it work but this cruise was a joke. When we arrived at our room we walked into a not clean room with the bed made which was topped off by the used soap bar in the shower and several other areas of uncleanliness. We asked the supervisor Stewart about cleaning the cabin, we were told that it would be taken care of the following day. Whats wrong with this picture lets see we paid money for a substandard cabin and it would be cleaned the following day. I'm assured that this would not be done to the captain's cabin. From that point on it slid downhill. Some of the items we experienced was unclean common area restrooms especially in the dining rooms and theater areas Some were so dirty my wife and the people we were with could not use them. The food menus were limited and needed upgrading and food refinement. We went to the Italian restaurant a waited over 45 minutes for our entree. The dining rooms closed for breakfast at 9:00 AM so if you wanted to go later you were done. The best was one day coming back from the ship's show at 11:00 PM we went into our cabin and had no water. When we called they said they were doing a scheduled water maintenance. Of course we wanted to know why we were not notified we had to take medication. Many of the passengers exchanged the same views as ours only with different stories. The ship looks great from the pictures or the dock after walking around, it was in much need of maintenance from rusty railings, decks etc. How does a Professional Captain just walk by these items without having his management staff correct these items right in front of his eyes If he is not doing these things, what about the areas we did not see..... This was not our first cruise Last year we went to Alaska on the Princess Line "Diamond" ship this must have ruined us for every detail was better then expected. My suggestion was definitely go to Hawaii but do not use NCL LINE..
