We had a group of 6 that booked this cruise back in December 2009. For the money, we had a great time, however, there were a few minor things that could have gone better. Embarkation- Not too bad we arrived around 1230, and were able to unload the bags right at the curb. I was hit up for valet parking, but declined, as it really is just a short walk from the parking lot. The lines had started forming, but overall, it was a short wit to get processed and on-board. The security personnel at the port were rally scrutinizing the carry-ons checking for contraband. They were even shaking water bottles and checking the see if they all bubbled the same! Once we were through security, we were on-board in less than 30 minutes. Rooms were not ready until 1:30, so we went to the Lido deck and ate in the buffet. The hamburger grills were working overtime and had a hard time keeping up with the demand for burgers. Overall not a bad embarkation experience. Rooms- Our room was a standard interior cabin. No frills here. The shower was larger than what I had expected and it was easy to move around in. Felix was our steward and he provided exceptional service the entire cruise! Food- The food was diverse and between good and better. There were some areas that could be improved, like they only had the omelet station on the deck outside by the pool, but this was a minor issue, also they simply could not keep hamburgers ready to consume, but this was a plus because it ensured they were always hot. We had dinner in the dining room every night and the menu was good. The lobster on lobster night was a little over cooked, but still tasted good. Excursions- We decided at the last minute to book the catamaran sail and snorkel deluxe and were very impressed with the staff at Fury and the service they provided. It was by far the highlight of the cruise. We snorkeled for 45 minutes then sailed up the coast until we reached the private beach, which was complete with water trampoline, slides, hammocks, beach chairs, paddle boards, kayaks, open bar and if you got hungry the only thing you had to buy were the $9.00 hamburgers. They provided all the margaritas, beers and bottled water you could handle. We stayed at the beach for an hour and a half, then it was a dance party on the 65 ft. catamaran, back to the pier. The ships staff were all professional and everyone smiled and spoke to you in passing. The crew did a fantastic job of keeping us in the sun the entire trip with the exception of the last sea day, we had 40 mph winds and some rain and clouds. Not the best way to finish a cruise, but overall we had a great time, on a good ship, with a great crew!
