I have sailed on Royal Caribbean and was interested in comparing it with Princess. This was my first Princess cruise. The major differences were: Balcony room I had was much smaller than on Royal. The bathroom was very small in comparison. No sofa to sit on just 2 chairs and a small table. Any time dinning was really enjoyable. Enjoyed the fact of getting to meet new people almost every night. Would constantly see these people through out the cruise and felt like you knew more people because of this arrangement. The only night that was bad of anytime dinning was the first night. I would recommend when you first get on the ship you immediately call and set up a time for your dinner. We waited and got placed at 8 p.m. After that we got wise and called in the morning and got most reservations at 5:45 so we could go to entertainment in the evenings. The food was wonderful. The seasonings were spot on! Can't complain at all about what was offered on the menus. Just missed my grits at the breakfast buffets. Would skip the cafe breakfast.

The ship was in great shape, the piazza was wonderful and loved the fact that a lot of entertainment happened there. Loved the string quartet everyday and piano music was great. The bars on the whole were very good.

Really appreciated the non-smoke nights at the casino. Won $249 the first night! after that it was a waste of money. Best bet is the first night for winning.
