My husband and I decided to try Carnival again. We sailed the Conquest a couple of years back and was not impressed but tried again. Not any better in fact worse. The embarkation was quick and painless. There were no bands on the lido deck at the pool. Which to us was very disappointing. We enjoy the the island music. The food was terrible. Hamburgers and hotdogs on the lido were actually the high point. The buffet was horrible. Very little selection and the food that was there was awful. The dining room wasn't much better other than the chocolate melting cake. Entertainment-Steve Castell was exceptional. He certainly plays a mean fiddle. The room was nice, clean and big. Our room steward, Gusty was terrific. There was some mold growing on the ceiling of the shower and at times that was the smell of sewer but not unbearable. The ports were Progresso and Cozumel. Never any problems with Cozumel, love that port. Progresso, however, was awful. Got off the ship went to town went thru the area at the bus stop and got right back on the bus and went back to the ship. Did not feel comfortable in Progresso. I personally think that this is aport that should be taken off the schedule. Debarkation, let me just say this, thank goodness for the porters. We used one and was out of the terminal in less than 40 minutes. Others that got off before us were still in line when we left.

This was our second time with Carnival. We have been RC twice and Princess once. Next time we will be going back to Royal. We traveled with some newbies and were very disappointed for them as well. Royal Caribbean here we come.
