I have just returned from a one week Western Med cruise on the Thomson Dream. In the weeks leading up to our holiday I was on this site every other day looking for new and positive reviews and was pleased to see they were getting better and better before we left as I had many sleepless nights worrying about taking my elderly mother on her first ever cruise.

All my worry was needless! Embarkation was smooth and I was like a bloodhound the minute I stepped aboard.....not a whiff of anything unpleasant. We were shown to our cabin by a member of staff then greeted by our cabin steward for the week, Ceno, who looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble. Our cabin was spacious, clean and very comfortable though I would have preferred a walk in shower, rather than the shower over the bath, which I understand some other cabins have.

The ship communication is excellent with the 'Cruise News' on your pillow each night at turndown and excursion description and booking all very smooth. There is so much to do on a cruise that it is quite tiring so I feel that some half day afternoon excursions would be welcome and more relaxing rather then the morning ones and an early rise. The tour companies and guides used by Thomsons are excellent.
