Background Information Travelling as a couple with 2 children (13 and 7) - first time cruisers. I've read some other negative reviews from around the same time we cruised, and am disappointed that some people just seem to look for issues. I have to say that we were very pleased with our first experience.

Embarkation We embarked in Palma after having a few days in a neighbouring town beforehand. The embarkation process was so quick and easy - I expected a few queues, although I was aware this wasn't the main embarkation port. We didn't see anyone other than NCL staff - walked straight through the port building, filled in a personal info form, dropped off bags, then straight onto ship. Ushered through the theatre, photos taken, then taken for registration (and our room was ready). What a breeze! The whole process took less than 30 minutes from getting out of the taxi. Opting for a port that's not the main embarkation port was definitely a good move!

As we sailed away from Palma, we were enjoying our balcony and noticed a family running through the port building shouting on the ship. All aboard time was 5.30pm and it was about 6.05pm. Surprisingly the ship pulled back into the side and put down a special ramp to allow the family to board - I'm sure the family were both relieved and delighted. I have to commend NCL for this consideration.
