Hello fellow cruise critics; Yellow Fish here to check in. My brother, Richard, and I had a terrific cruise. The teasing never stopped, and so we laughed our final hours away. I was the last one off the ship, as we were in no rush to return to the business of living. Richard is sick, also, fever and cough. Hmmm. I have been fighting congestion, but feel good otherwise. Just a bit worn out, but lack of sleep will do that. I thought the layout of the Splendor was quite nice; and the size of her is gigantic! I liked everything about the ship except the overuse of pink polka dots. I would not want to be feeling nausaus on those elevators.... I highly recommend their spa use package. It costs $250 for two people, for the whole week, or figure $16.5 per day. It allows the unlimited use of two steam sauna rooms, a very very very comfortable spa, a relaxing lounge which has beds and light refreshments. Also included is a room they call a dry sauna, but it isn't. It is not a room filled with dry heat. It is a room that has heated tiled seats, which is quite relaxing as the heat soothes your spine. After the first day when they sell these packages, then the price is $35 per day. We made a point of going to the spa 6 days in a row. We both agreed that this is the most relaxing cruise we've ever been on because of our spa visits. In Mazatlan we each had a 2.5 hour massage at Aroma Spa. The price was quite affordable, though my massager (Veronica) is one I would avoid and never recommend. An overuse of her elbow left me sore the entire week. I will definitely visit this spa again, so please do not think I am complaining about it. There were problems between me and Veronica, not with the spa.

I had the seaweed wrap on the Carnival and it was very relaxing.

The food was the same Carnival quality; inconsistent. Some of it is really great, such as the squash pot pie in the dining room. The eggplant and zucchini parmesan is good, but they only bread the top single piece of eggplant.
