We are a professional couple in our 50s and have cruised 20+ times, mostly on Celebrity. This was our 7th Bermuda cruise and our 3rd time on the Summit. We are "Elite" Captain's Club members. We booked this cruise because we can drive to the port and because we have enjoyed cruising to Bermuda in the past. This cruise was a lot of fun mainly because of the staff on board the Summit. Embarkation was OK. The port was easy to find with luggage drop-off/parking well organized. Upon reaching the check in line we showed the hostess our cruise ticket which clearly stated we were Elite Captain's Club Members and we were directed to the end of a very long line and given a ticket for the "yellow" bus group. We saw that the line for Elite Captain's Club Members was completely empty so we moved to that area. The lady who gave us the ticket questioned us and we told her we were Elite Members. She then took our bus tickets away and we had no ticket to replace it. Check in was then fast and easy. We moved to the area where we were then supposed to wait for a bus. They wanted a ticket. We explained what happened. The lady told us we could take the next bus but she had an attitude and said the other people had been waiting 2 hours for a bus. I found that hard to believe as it was only 1 pm and I don't know why anyone would be waiting that long. In any event we are loyal Celebrity Cruisers and I do not think we should be subjected to attitude because we choose to utilize the priority embarkation. From the bus boarding was quick and easy. Our state room was ready and we dropped off our carry-ons and set out for the buffet. All in all embarkation took about 30 minutes from the time we entered the parking lot. Very quick. Stateroom was adequate with plenty of storage. Dora kept it spotless. Food on this cruise was very good. We chose traditional dining in the main dining room and were seated with three other couples. We never ate in the specialty restaurant. We ate all lunches and breakfasts in the buffet. We had just cruised in April on board the Mercury and found the menu items in the main dining room were somewhat different. There was one night when we scratched our heads and weren't sure what to get but mostly the food in the dining room was terrific. On Celebrity there is always a menu of staple items to choose from if there is nothing that appeals to you on the regular menu. You certainly cannot go hungry. The portion sizes were good. Also the waiter will bring out additional portions or another entre. Our waiter, Jim, and his assistant, Dwi, were wonderful and were sure everyone was pleased with his/her meal every night. Breakfast and lunch were also very good. We usually sat in the same area and became acquainted with server, Daniella, who was always friendly and cheerful. The staff person who cooks omelets in the back is especially friendly and patient. I love the waffles on Celebrity but was disappointed the first few mornings because the waffles in the rear waffle station were always served cold. However, I discovered a second waffle station tucked away in the front behind the rolls and there the waffles were nice and hot. Not sure why! Lunch was very good. One day there were whole turkeys sliced to order. There is a very popular pasta station. The pizza station was the busiest especially with the children on board. The grill, pasta and pizza stations are open until 6 pm. There is a stir fry Asian station and sushi in the evenings. We were very happy with the food on this cruise. Lounges. We cannot say enough good things about the bar staff on this cruise. On the first night we were fortunate enough to meet Elena and Jose in Michael's Club. They are just terrific, always friendly and enthusiastic; we really looked forward to spending time there. We had late seating and would go to Michael's club around 7 pm. There we would enjoy the sunset from the lovely windows facing the promenade deck. Elena was always there, charming and efficient. Jose was usually tending bar. We were so happy to have found them early in the cruise. Another favorite place was the Champagne Bar where we met Petar and Violetta. They were so full of energy and were very friendly and fun. The attitude of the staff on this cruise was very positive and happy. You got the sense the staff enjoyed working there. We did have a few isolated complaints. Celebrity has a contract now with Apple computers and all their computers are now Apple laptops which I found difficult to use. The IT staff tried to be helpful. Celebrity has several perks for Elite CC members which include a special place to have continental breakfast with complimentary cappuccinos. I tried it one morning and though there were 2 staff members serving approximately 4 couples after 20 minutes no one had asked if I wanted anything. I was just ignored. Finally my husband came in and made a comment to one of the waiters. At that point my order was taken (with an attitude). This was not the typical service at all in any other area of the ship. I simply never went back. We did not go to any other Captain's Club event. The only show we saw was the staff talent show. It was absolutely wonderful. Do not miss it. It is at 10:30am on the last full cruise day. All in all it was a wonderful cruise. There were many children on board but for the most part they were well behaved. The weather was perfect as was Bermuda itself. We had a very good time.
