Sail Date: Aug 2010
Cabin: Mid-Ship Inside

Although I have cruised before (on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Princess) this was my 1st cruise on Norweigian. I selected this ship mostly because I wanted a 7 day cruise to Bermuda from N.Y.C., and the choices were limited to this and a couple of other options that were a bit too "staid" for my tastes.

The Dawn is a modern large ship that carries about 2,500 passengers when filled to capacity (which this sailing was). This many passengers made for a crowded main pool area (and considering the size of the ship,a main pool area with only 1 small pool isn't enough anyway), especially during "at sea" days. What makes it worse is that there is a 2nd pool area in the spa that is limited to only those who were willing to pay an additional fee.

I had an inside cabin (my usual accommodations), somewhat smaller that other cruise lines that I've sailed on...too small..not enough room to even keep my suitcase usable, I had to keep the bag under the bed and pull it out every time I needed something. I left the closet and drawer space for my companion, as there wasn't enough room for both of our stuff. It was tolerable, barely.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IE

Inside cabin # 5583.

Well located near the center of the ship on deck 5. Due to the central location, there was very little feeling of the ship's movement while sailing.

Other than the normal hallway sounds, noises were not a problem as it was not over or under or near any noise making public or crew areas.

As mentioned in the main body of my review, cabin should be more than 142 square feet as it was barely tolerable for 2 adults with only 1 piece of luggage each.
