Most of our expectations were met! We flew in the day before and a family member drove us to the port at about 11:30 am, we had VIP check in for the first time and it was great. We were on board in less than 30 minutes from getting out of the car. When it was time to go to the cabins at 1:30pm our luggage was already at the door and our room was Awesome, we loved the extented aft balcony. It had two chairs and a end table, but no awning if it rains! The view was terrific and we would book this again!! We made friends with our neighbors on both sides and opened the connecting doors by the 2nd day of sailing! Notice: cabin 7461 has no couch in the cabin and it is much smaller, our cabin had lots more room and a couch, also cabin 7465 had even more room than we did, I hope this helps!
The elevators are very slow, the wait is over 10 minutes at times. We took the stairs whenever possible. Ship is nice but they need bigger common areas for the guests to enjoy. The Lido deck could use a stage for entertainment, they need an adults only pool area, kids invade all the pools & hot tubs, they even tried to go to the serrenity area and were told to leave. Maybe they will get it right on the Magic!!
Most of the staff was wonderful. Our cabin was always clean, had ice as requested. Dinner staff in mdr was the best ever. The photo staff was friendly and the photo system was well organized with a new scan your card to find your photo system. Watch out in the casino, I caught the dealers making mistakes on the roulette table and blackjack, they were not paying attention and would pull your bet when you won. I had to tell them several times that they needed to pay me. The pit boss was nice and then they pulled the dealer, but this happened two different nights with different dealers!
Overall we had a wonderful cruise and already have another Carnival Cruise booked on the Spirit next year. I still need to try other Carnival class ships to find my favorite one. It's what you make it that counts and we had a BLAST!!! Oh and our cruise director "Butch" was the best cd we had ever sailed with!!! He made everyone feel so special, thank you BUTCH!!!!
