Wow! It really is an amazing Oasis at sea!!!
Took a same day flight from EWR (Newark NJ) to FLL. 815 am flight arrived in FLL by 1145 am and picked up the luggage and walked to take a taxi to the port. Traveled with 7 people total in our party. Cab fare was 14.00 and took no more than 8 minutes. You can see the ship from the airport! Check in was quick as they divided you up by decks. We were on the ship within 12 minutes.
Ate lunch at the Park cafe and experienced how good those freshly carved roast beef sandwiches were. The cafe is cute and has made to order salads and assorted sandwiches and paninis. The tables fill up quickly so you may need to eat at a table outside.
Brought our bathing suits with us in our carry on, so we went straight to the solarium to grab a cabana and enjoy the pool while it is quiet.
Went back to room before the assembly drill (no life jackets).
After the drill, settled in the room and noticed only one luggage. Out room attendant said the other luggage might be More by security. Went there and it was. The wife brought an IRON , and we were not aware of the no iron policy. lol.
The beds are super comfortable and even my wife was happy with them. She is very picky on the softness of the beds.
Took advantage of My time dining. We set it for 6 pm each day and were able to get same table and same waiters. There was very little wait around the 6 pm time and when we left the dining room around 715- 730 there were lines for the dining room. Ate most nights in the main dining room for dinner. We all enjoyed our Waiter Alfredo, and assistant Jose. The food was very good. I always enjoy the food on Royal. Do want to say that the head waiter Murat was always by to make sure everything was good and made sure my wife would have her lactose free milk.
Ate at Izumi japanese and sushi restaurant. It was excellent for both lunch and dinner. The prices were very reasonable.
There was no problem finding lounge chairs and even found some in the shaded areas. The solarium was our favorite hang out , but it was difficult finding a cabana.
Enjoyed hair spray.
Frozen in time was awesome!
Come Fly with me was really good.
Some members of my group saw the comedy show. They enjoyed one of the comedians and said the other one was not as funny.
The headliner show was not to my liking, so didnt stay for it.
Due to technical difficulties the Oasis of Dreams show was not shown. They worked each day to present the show but could not get it up and running. The last couple of days the put together some parts of that show and the splish splash show and presented what they called " Aqua theater showcase" It was 30 mins long and featured the divers, acrobats, some fountain special effects and sync swimmers. The show turned out very good and we were happy that we could see some form of a aqua show.
Richard Spacey was very funny as the cruise director.
The crew was exceptional!! Everyone provided excellent service.
Didnt feel too crowed at all.
Got to do zip line and the boogie boarding on one of the flow riders. Go right when they open to avoid the long waits.
Enjoyed the carousel and boardwalk area.
So much to do and so little time. Couldnt get everything accomplished so in a few years will have to go back!
The ship is stunning!! So large and beautiful. It does require a lot of walking, and you will get turned around. Loved the interactive screens near the elevators. Cant wait to go back one day on Oasis or on Allure. Less
