My husband and I sailed for our first time with NCL on the Norwegian Dawn March 12, 2010 for a 9 day cruise to the Caribbean. We did a lot of research in order to make a decision regarding which cruise line we wanted to go with. This cruise was for our honeymoon. I had sailed Carnival a few years ago for a 4 day trip to Mexico and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my husband and I were disappointed with NCL on this trip.

We purchased the penthouse suite with balcony on the Aft on the boat. We enjoyed the room. We were to have several amenities including a butler and concierge. Additionally, we were told we would have a cake delivered to our room in celebration of our honeymoon.

The first day we arrived we met our concierge. We went to our room even though we thought we would be able to go to our room as early as 12pm and had to wait a couple of hours. We tried calling our butler, room service, and our concierge when we arrived. We did not have the cake, our fruit, and we were told that once we get on the boat they could immediately get us non alcoholic wine since we don't drink alcohol. We were unable to get a hold of anyone and it took awhile before we got to relax due to all of this. Additionally the "sparkling grape juice" was actually non alcoholic chardonnay and did not taste good whatsoever. We still didn't receive the cake.

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

The penthouse suite was neat and had a good balcony but we hated the bright colors and it was smaller and no bathtub.
