Sail Date: Aug 2010

I sailed on the Thompson Dream from 17th to 24th August and having read some of the negative reviews after I had booked I was certainly not looking forward to my cruise. However my experience certainly did not correlate with previous passenger accounts and I had a fantastic time on the Dream.

When we arrived there was a problem with our cabin in that it had apparently been allocated to someone else but this was not a problem as we received an immediate free upgrade to an outside cabin which was spacious, immaculately clean and over the course of the week we did not encounter any foul smells or plumbing or air con problems. We received our luggage within 30 minutes of embarking.

During the cruise I did not encounter any sewage smells and believe me I probably covered every inch of the ship as I got lost so many times. I personally did not witness any problems in the public toilets however my wife did report that on a few occasions (possibly twice in 7 days) and during peak times that the ladies toilets were blocked. This certainly did not impact on my cruise experience and judging by some of the earlier reviews I was almost expecting to be engulfed in a mountain of raw sewage when I opened the toilet door.
