Well......what a great way to spend 8 days with your children and grandchildren. Our daughter got married on board in the chapel,it was a lovely tranquil place and very well done. Our son proposed to his girlfriend in St Maarten in the sea! We celebrated 3 birthdays for our 4yr granddaughter and 8 and 9yr grandsons and had cakes for all 3 occasions too!.
This was the families first cruise........our 5th.....3 with RCI and 1 with Princess Grand and Celebrity Eclipse in Apr this year.
We absolutely loved this ship and everything about it...never crowded at all......there are so many eateries on board that you never have to wait...... The windjammer is much smaller than all the others on board RCI.....but it has to be because of the many other venues to eat in.
The food was lovely.........however......I think salt is used far too much...... I didn't like the veg because of this..not to mention blowing up ankle/legs etc and when you drink the water/juice that is made with desalinated water it has to have it in it too.
I have spoken to many people who cruise and have swollen feet/ankles legs and bodies and it goes when you return home so come on cruise lines..take the salt out!.just don't use it!.
No job was too much trouble...our waiters in the main dining room were excellent too!
The cabins were no different to any other D1 Balcony we have had........apart from nowhere near enough drawer space.....actually only 2 use-able ones really.
Shower room was nice and the interactive TV helps very much to keep an eye on your acc.....just in case for any errors....which we did have ..but was soon rectified.
The pools were lovely....but cannot see the point of a salt water pool........especially if you want to do a late night swim with the kiddies..all the others were shut off.....even though it is said 24/7 swimming.
The Carousel was not working for the first couple of days but after then it did......BIG disappointment was the Aqua pool at the back of the ship......never worked at all...
Considering RCI have made billions in past years.....I don't think it would hurt them for once to actually refund a good amount......not a small token.......
When something is not doing what it is suppose to do......and this along side the Carousel was a huge thing for us having 4 kids with us.......
That said.......although its size was huge..we would not let it stop us from using it again..........
Yes smaller ships are more desirable maybe if you want small numbers milling around.......but we never found the Oasis crowded at all EVER......well maybe the lifts sometimes......
The shows on board were very good, colourful and entertaining too.
The Central Park was lovely..and the Boardwalk was a nice place to walk around too...
We did miss the midnight Buffets they usually do....we also didn't see ANY ice/food carvings at all.and we had told all our family it was something to look forward to seeing....
Overall.we all had a fab time,wedding,engagement and 3 bdays..how will we top that....we won't!
