Embarkation: Our group set sail on the Valor on August 8, 2010 from Miami and headed for the Western Carribean. Embarkation was quick and painless, we got to the port at 11:30 and never waited, we just kept on moving. Your best best to get to the port EARLY!! We all live in Florida, so getting there was easy.
Food: I have Celiac Disease and require a STRICT Gluten Free Diet. Let me just tell you how unbelieably impressed I am at the way my situation was handled. I was absolutely catered to. I had food made special for me every day and it was fantasic. I can also say that everyone in our group (19 people) had not one complaint about the food - they all said it was the best food they have ever had. Mind you, we have all cruised on Royal Carribean and Norwegian too. Whether Carnival food is just better or we just hit it right, I don't know, but the food was great. Rosie's is always crowded, so be patient, they won't run out of food. We ate dinner in the Washington Dining Room every night and did not go to any of the specialty places. We have no regrets about that.
Cabin: My husband and I upgraded to an aft oceanview - Cabin 2477 - and let me just tell you it was so big!! We actually enjoyed it more than any balcony we have ever been in. The space was wonderful and the window was huge. Storage space (in all the cabins) was more than enough, again, no one in our group of 19 had a single complaint about their cabin. My room stewart was never around, but it was always obvious he had been there. Our cabin was spotless and we never had to ask for a thing - he was on the ball!!
