We are second time cruisers having cruised on Carnival Elation in the Caribbean a few years back .

Norwegian Jade was... OK. They make a big deal about their "Freestyle Cruising" model. This basically refers to an element of freedom as to where and when you eat. The food was only OK... the Garden Cafe, which is a large self service, had a pretty good selection but was packed whenever I went and it was hard to find a table. And the lack of provision of trays meant that it took several precarious trips to one's distant table to assemble a meal ... by which time it was cold. Coffee was poor too. And they seemed to close it at the most inconvenient times.

The ship was quite new, with somewhat gaudy, Hawaiian themed decor. But overall, it was very impressive. However, it lacked the 'wow' factor that Elation had with its huge Atrium. Our Balcony room on Deck 10 was small but comfortable.
