The Celebrity eclipse is an outstanding cruise ship and deserves to be be ranked number 1. We arrived in London the day before our cruise and stayed at the City Inn Westminster. This is a lovely, modern hotel which is ideally situated across the Thames from the London Eye. The hotel is modern, clean and the concierge is terrific in assisting with directions, theatre tickets, restaurants, etc. The breakfast was fairly good and we departed for Southampton on a comfortable bus. Due to an air show we were tied up in traffic for more than an hour.
We had a very fast embarkation to the ship and were glad to be greeted with champagne and a warm welcome from everyone. This ship is just gorgeous. Our favorite spot was the solarium with a lap pool, waterfall and hot tubs. Even the lounges were so comfortable and the pool towels were warm and plush. The library has a wonderful selection of books which you can take and return at your own leisure. It's nice to see a cruise line which trusts its passengers in the library. The dining room is beautiful and the food is outstanding. The food in the upstairs cafe was equally as good. We really enjoyed lunch there every afternoon. They even produce their oun ice cream. The desserts are excellent and presented in such an elegant manner.
My only issue was that there wasn't enough room for our clothes in our balcony cabin. I needed a few more draws but asked for more hangers and just hund many bthings in the closet.
