I have just returned from a week on the Island Escape. Having read many reviews of the ship i was quite worried about what we were going to find when we opened the door to our cabin. We had a twin outside cabin on deck 4 (2 of us travelled: my mum aged 57 and me aged 34), this was our first cruise.
We called at the follwing ports: Villefranche, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Propriano, Mahon. We joined the ship at Palma in Majorca, but there is no option for Palma as the port of embarkation above!!
The cabin was surprisingly spacious - there were 2 very comfortable (and good-sized) beds, 2 wardrobes, a desk, mini bar and bathroom. We had 2 portholes which provided a lovely view out to sea. We originally booked an inside cabin, however we upgraded for just £22 each after booking, to an outside cabin. The cabin was spotlessly clean and the cabin steward was very attentive - cleaning the cabin in the morning and then coming back in the evening to turn the beds and put the bedside lamps on! The only downside to the cabin was the very small bathroom, however it is a ship, so what do you expect?! The cabin was a little dated and could do with a bit of a facelift, but it was perfectly comfortable and clean.
Our cabin was quite noisy when docking as we were positioned right above the gangway! Apart from that we didn't hear any noise from the entertainment venues, etc as we were quite low down on the ship.
