I am going to try and write this review since the cruise is still very fresh in my mind. I just got off the Jewel this morning and overall, we had a wonderful time. I will address both the positives and negatives to be fair.

Embarkation: Overall, it wasn't too bad. We had a shuttle service from Philly to Manhattan and once we got to the pier, it was maybe a 1/2 hour wait to get on the ship. We got to the pier around noon. The line looks longer than it really is. We were also latitudes so that did help a bit. But overall, the whole process was very smooth.

Room: We had an aft balcony on the 10th floor. It was small!!!!! We were traveling with our 1 year old DD and the pack'n play the ship provided took up a good chunk of open space. We had an adjoining room with my parents and that made things a lot easier. We were able to open the partition to our balcony and that gave us a lot more space. Our room steward was very good. However, one thing I was surprised about is that we didn't get a towel animal every night. I think we got two throughout the whole cruise. But he was very attentive and kept our room clean. Shower in the bathroom was decent size. Hot water temperature was temperamental. We brought a tub for our daughter and kept that in the shower.
