We flew from Glasgow to Palma in Majorca (our point of embarkation), and were transferred to the Island Escape by bus from the airport (all very efficient).
Embarkation was not the best introduction to our first cruise. It felt more of a cattle market, where cruise staff appeared to be single minded in their intent on getting hold of our credit card details, than welcoming us to the cruise experience.
Our initial impression on embarking was that the ship was huge, and we thought we would never find our way around, but our fears were unfounded and after a short time we pretty much had our bearings. (No doubt my husband would find that hard to believe!)
CABIN (9045?)
We chose an "L" shaped bed arrangement, which we felt gave us slightly more floor space. It did feel very much on the small side, and was only really adequate for sleeping, changing clothes, etc. Not the place to sit and relax or to spend some quiet time away from the rest of the passengers/activities (especially with it being an inside cabin with no natural light).
As a result of this experience, an outside and more spacious cabin would be the choice for any future cruises.
