Our cruise on the Sea Princess to Alaska was great. We left from San Francisco which was very convenient since we live in the area. We arrived about 1:00 and were checked in right away and in our cabin by 1:30. Our first bag arrived shortly after and the rest arrived around 4:00. We had a balcony room on the Aloha deck which was much bigger than I expected since so many people complained about the room size. Our four suitcases fit under the bed and there was plenty of storage space and hangers for our clothes. The bathroom was also very roomy with plenty of space for our personal items. Our steward, Alvin was very attentive and pleasant. Our room was always kept spotless. I would highly recommend bringing an extension cord with plug adapter as there is only one outlet in the cabin. A travel clock would be a good idea as well.

The first morning I ordered room service breakfast from the card that was left in our room each night. It was delivered a little earlier than expected and had to get out of bed from a sound sleep so the rest of the trip we opted to go to the buffet or the restaurant. Sometimes we would get our breakfast and then bring it back to our room and enjoy eating on our deck. We chose the 8:00 dinner seating which worked out really well. Our waiter was fantastic and always gave us good recommendations on what was good that night and was always right. The staff was very attentive to your needs and the food was fabulous!! The Italian restaurant was good as well as the hamburger and hot dogs by the pool. The free softy ice cream however was poor quality. Horizon court buffet was good. They have an excellent salad bar everyday and most of the food options change daily. The fresh fruit was very good. We never made it to the steakhouse as we never wanted to miss our meal in the dining room. Around 5:00 or 6:00 pm each day we would go up and fill a plate of appetizers from the buffet and come back to our room and enjoy with our cocktails. Also, bringing alcohol on board was never an issue! We packed both wine and alcohol and made it through boarding with no problem. Bringing a bottle back on the ship from the ports was never an issue as well. One person in front of us at port brought back a twelve pack of Alaskan beer, set it on the conveyer belt and nobody said a word.

I did not feel obligated or "pushed" into buying anything like so many other reviewers did. Sure, there were tons of things to buy but we were never approached or "pushed" into buying them. It was always fun to go look at the pictures that were taken of you by the staff and nobody every came up and "pushed" us into buying them.
