Wonderful ship-Wonderful Baltic

Sail Date: July 2010
Destination: Baltic Sea
Embarkation: Southampton

We have just returned from a wonderful cruise on the Queen Victoria. It has been a really uplifting experience. Travel to Southampton was by coach from Victoria London, where our luggage was taken from us and there it was in our stateroom when we arrived there. The stateroom was immaculate and of a good size especially the balcony which was larger than we have experienced on other ships. The whole ship was beautiful and so clean and fresh. The decor was to die for. Meals taken either in the main Dining Room or the buffet were of very good quality. I was lucky enough to have a birthday while we were there and received a birthday card from the Captain and staff and a birthday cake and chorus of "Happy Birthday" from the waiters. This is done automatically for all who have a birthday while on board.

There were too many activities to list here but something for everybody's interests.

The service in general was 1st class. Whenever one passed a member of the crew there More was always a greeting from them. Our cabin steward in particular always greeted us by name.

The excursions were plentiful and varied according to one's physical abilities The system of getting guests on and off the ship was very efficient and there was no queueing to do so.

Entertainment was of West End quality and very enjoyable.

On disembarkation our luggage was waiting for us withing the customs area and the coach back to London was right outside the terminal.

As you can gather from this review we were delighted with our cruise and have since written to Cunard to tell them.

Cabin review: Queen Victoria Balcony Deck 6 6038

Good size especially the balcony area. I must mention the beds - wonderful. I would like one like this at home.

Port and Shore Excursions

Copenhagen is a very nice city to visit. There is plenty to see and the ships are docked within walking distance of the city centre. Tivoli gardens are a must and there are plenty of good shops for those to whom this important.

Wonderful place to visit. The city tour was very interesting and the Hermitage Museum unbelievable. So much to see how can one take it all in. We attended a Folklore eveing while there which was so enjoyable.

The sail into Stockholm is spectacular, Through a mass if islands and very picturesque. We were tendered into Stockholm but this was no trouble at all. No queueing for tenders either on or off.
