First you should know I have been on about thirty cruises HAL, Royal, Carnival, Radisson, Princess, NCL, Cunard, and Home Lines. We arrived at the pier at 11:30 and had a speedy embarkation process where were physically on the boat by 12:00 PM. I went straight to the front desk to make reservations for the pinnacle grille (we we're celebrating a very special occasion) or the Italian restaurant however, there was no availability for most of the cruise unless you ate at 9PM so my recommendation is to do this via the website prior to your cruise. After much confusion and back and forth at the front desk I was able to get an 8:00 PM reservation at Pinnacle for Tuesday (the night we we're in St. George) ...to be continued. After that fiasco we decide to go to the get something to eat on Lido like everyone else does, as on most cruises it was crowded but if you don't need a 5 course meal and just a bite the best bet is to head to the retreat for some pizza. The pizza was not good but it was less crowded and we were able to get a table.

Rooms were ready about 1 PM and we booked a Deluxe Verandah Suites the hallway smelled like a dirty mop but the room was big, clean, and the balcony was unbelievable about the size of a normal inside cabin. The cabin was unusually warm but we were reassured that once we set sail it would cool down.

We settled in we decide to head up to the lido pool area do get a drink for our cruise out of New York. One of the waiters presented us with a drink card and explained that you get 10 drinks but only pay for 8. Now don't be fooled because after buying 2 drink cards and thinking I was getting a deal on about the 5th day of the cruises I was informed by another bartender that I had been losing a $1.50 on each drink. See... I drink rum and coke about $5.50 each and the drink card was geared towards the specialty drinks cosmos, martini's, etc. which cost $7.00 nobody told as I ordered mixed drinks so figure it out 1.50 x 20 drinks HAL got $30.00 from me. Anyway, the cruise out of the harbor was amazing I've done it many times before and never get tired of the view although we had the early seating 5:45 we decided to skip it so we can enjoy the views and have dinner on the balcony. Be prepared room service takes about 1hr no matter what you order
