My husband and I have taken 8 cruises since 2000. We have enjoyed our time with 3 different cruise lines. The Alaskan voyage we just completed was wonderful...The incredibly beautiful , rain-free week added to the enjoyment. Printing out documents at home, the ease of checking in, and the great service we had on the cruise were all things to write home about. Our cabin attendant was cordial and always one step ahead of our needs. Booking excursions last minute on the ship went smoothly. All our needs were met. The food choices were numerous, and we were rarely unhappy with any part of the meals we ordered. It seemed that the price for the unlimited soft drinks had actually gone down since we last chose this option. There was no gala midnight buffet offered. However, the buffet court was available until 4AM every day so we were NOT ever starving! We were a little surprised that the ship announcements were audible in the hallways, but not in our rooms. So if we woke up to early morning mumblings, we had to open our cabin door to find out what we were missing. The price of professional photos is getting expensive. $25 for each photo taken in front of your chosen screen. However,we did like the option of a photo book which came with 30 pages of preselected Alaskan photos and printed information to which you could add up to 70 pages of your own photos. All to be edited online and then sent to your home.

The BIG PROBLEM we found was in the transportation to the airline terminal. We chose the EASY option of taking a shuttle to a secure check-in area... where we waited longer than we have ever waited to get through security and be able to board another bus to take us to the terminal building. At that point we were required to walk up many steps with our heavy carry-on bags. We left the ship at 8:15am.. and got to our gate at 10:45. Not acceptable.

Cabin Review

Cabin I

Our cabin... A515 was a little larger than most cabins. Good amount of closet space. We were close to elevators. We like being mid-ship. A plus on this Aloha deck is a small swimming pool at the back!
