Waking up for our first excursion @ 8am after traveling from California the day before, was the worst part of this excursion. We took a 13 mile bikeride around the island and got to see the real Bahamas. The island seemed ran down driving from the port to where we picked up our bikes. It was actually great to see and hear the history of the islands. We got a chance to see where freed slaves lived, to beautiful beautiful beaches. We were not sure what to expect but it was really nice and we chose the right excursion, it took us to the beach, the botanical garden, the shops and we even had time to go to the casino, if we wanted. I would definitley recommend the bike ride if you want to see, and experience and take advantage of most of the Freeport excursions. 


Freeport

We didn't get to really experience Nassau. We scheduled the Sub Experience in which we were supposed to get on our bus @ 11:15. The first problem was thewomen collecting our tickets wasnt holding a sign and was walking all around the port. We had to identify her by another excursion host. We finally left the port after 12pm. The traffic to the site was crazy, we finally arrived and sat another hour when another excursion host came and said he hadnt got anything saying we were there for the sub experience. Running over 1hr behind we finally got the briefing and headed out to the ocean. The sub experience was great, for me ( My husband refused to go after seeing some folks have problems underwater). The group was pretty large(gave time to snorkel, equipment provided) and there were folks from both the Sky, the Pearl and those staying in Nassau. They accomidated all the cruise ship passengers by allowing us to go first and then sent for a speedboat to take us directly to the port, it was 4:45pm and disembarktion was 6pm. The speedboat broke down and we got dropped off @ the site at 5:00. we had to back on the boat by 5:30, with 19 cruise passengers afraid of being stuck in Nassau, the driver was terrible, slow and acted as there was no rush even after 5:30. We were told to run to the boat or b left behind. We made it about 5:50 after running the whole way. Nice excursion, wouldnt recommend it because we didnt get to see anything or even shop at all!!! Luckily we purchased through NCL, we may have been stuck. 


Nassau

Tiny but nice and clean, just enough space for 2 people. Worked well if you are not trying to do anything but sleep. Alot of noise from upstairs, i think the kids place is right above.

The SKY was the best part of the vacation.We enojoyed our time on the Sky and will be returning for my Husbands birthday in November.
