Having booked our holiday last October we were looking forward to a relaxing fortnight this summer. We, like most people, thought that this was a new ship and after investigation we realised that it was only a new addition to the Thomson fleet and was having a refit.
As we neared our cabin the smell got stronger, and on arrival at our cabin we noticed that the cabin next to ours had a burst pipe and had flooded the cabin. My wife turned to me and said that she could not live in this stench for a week. We then unpacked and went for a tour of the ship, returned to our cabin and changed for dinner, with the smell still lingering. After dinner we returned to our cabin with the stench as strong as ever. We then decided to go to customer services and request a change of cabin.
We were told to come back in the morning. My wife told the advisor that if we could not be moved that evening they would have to fly us home.
Cabin was spacious although bathroom was very tight. Cabin interior needs upgrading, air conditioning was noisy and when ship was at sea there was a thumping noise coming from ships engines.
