We had a superb cruise on the Grand Princess despite being disappointed by reviews we read before sailing, it appeared that because the Norovirus had been on board on previous cruises nothing else was good! The old grand girl is due for a refit in September to December so we did not expect her to be pristine, however the decor was not as poor as had been portrayed in previous reviews. We certainly were not disappointed as we did not expect the ship to look like the newer versions on the sea nowadays!

We had a wonderful time, the food was great, the entertainment was great especially the shows the costumes, dance and singers were 2nd to none! The only one we did not enjoy much was the juggler, he was good but did struggle to get the audience behind him he was a competitor not an entertainer.

We did our own thing in all the ports, loved Monte Carlo which was why we booked this cruise, Did not go to Naples, instead we took the hydrofoil to Capri - what a good move that was it was glorious and others who went to Naples were disappointed! All the other ports were great too especially Agaccio, Corsica where we went snorkeling, the water was clear as a bell and some lovely fish to watch too! Read more
