Starting off when we made enquiries about the cruise we were offered £50 each on board spend as shown in the brochure by the time we booked a week later this was dropped as the price we paid was classed as a late deal. There is no indication of this on the page in the book that the on board spend is only for full fare paying travelers.
We arrive at Southhampton and were smoothly herded onto the ship. The cabin was small with a broken mirror. Day two the mirror is removed and replace on day four. The bedding had clean sheets but the pillows had a nasty niff these were changed for laundered pillows that had rocks in them! There is a need to launder the pillow and mattress protectors more often. The cabin needed better cleaning we found a pair of black socks and a note book which had been left by previous occupants.
Entertainment could be better I waited half an hour to book into the deck quoits only to be told off when Gavin turned up (late) for not being there earlier! There was no aqua fit and one of the four pools is kept for the staff to use. Children were using the adults pools as there is no supervision of the pool areas. Waiter service in the restaurant varied from excellent to very poor one evening it took two and a half hours to be served. Food with the exception of a piece of chicken that enjoyed a very long life was good.
The ship had a faulty engine while we were on board and I must say that the captain did keep us informed and did well to reschedule the trip to include Rome and Florence. The launderette is a great idea. Just felt that the whole experience could have been better. Maybe its just I have been spoiled in the past! I felt that is was like a floating caravan on a holiday camp. Bye D Bye!
