First about us. DH (51) DS (17) and me (47). We have been looking forward to this cruise since booking it in January and my Ipod app counted us down until it was time to go!
Embarkation: Fast and painless. Our car service was 15 minutes early and took us right to the door to where we were greeted by porters who whisked our luggage away. Off to the VIP lounge where we set up our Sign and Sail account and had some complimentary beverages (water and lemonade). We had arrived pretty early, around 11 am and I think by 12:15 or so we started to embark. The process is very smooth and soon we were on the Lido deck enjoying lunch and beverages. The bad weather held off so we were able to set sail under cloudy, but dry, skies.
We were able to get into our suite at around 1:45 pm. We had opted for an OS. We were on deck 6 in room 6327. IT WAS AWESOME. On this trip, the only thing I really wanted out of the room was a balcony and OMG! Our balcony was about 5 feet by 18 feet. It was twice the size I thought it was going to be. Big enough for a lounge chair, two chairs and a small round table (and there was still room on it). Great to sit out morning or evening and enjoy the ocean view. The room was huge. King-size bed with a pull down bed from the ceiling. Storage space....wow! There is storage everywhere! Closets, drawers, even the couch has two storage areas if you need them. Double vanity sink, shelving in the bathroom. We didn't use it but it had a whirlpool tub. There is shampoo and shower gel already in a wall dispenser so unless you have to have your own personal favorite of those, save the space and don't pack it. And there already is a blow dryer in the vanity portion of the room in the top drawer.
Awesome. Great balcony, quiet location, plenty of closet space, plenty of room. Comfy beds.
