Magical Experience

Sail Date: July 2010
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

As a family of three this was our first experience on a cruise line. From the time of check in at Port Canaveral to the time we disembarked it was both painless and effortless on our behalf. Disney takes very good care of its guests.

As we entered the ship we were greeted by the announcement of our family aboard the WONDER. Our 6 year old thought it was great. The Wonder was so much larger than we ever imagined. We immediately walked to Parrot Cay for our lunch which was a buffet. This buffet was well laid out and there was something for everyone.

Upon finishing lunch we proceeded to the Goofy pool and enjoyed the pool with a few people as we boarded the ship at around 12 noon.

The dining experience was outstanding. Our servers were fantastic. From the first night we ate in Parrot Cay to the nights in Triton's and Animators Palate they were awesome. One night stands out in both mine and my wifes mind as the key dining experience. Our daughter was excited More to go to the kids club and did not want to stay and eat. Our assistant server came over with a child's menu and proceeded to make and origami fish out of. Out little girl thought this was great. Onto the food now. The 4 course meal every night was great. Different bread and different selections every night. The servers also took the time to cut our child's food which was great.

Our stateroom was well above what we expected. We had a balcony and it was excellent as we got a first hand look at all ports as we approached. The room was spacious and always tidy. Disney prides itself on cleanliness as you see signs all over the ship about this. Our room was cleaned twice a day and our beds were ready for us every night when we returned to our stateroom.

One endless piece of equipment that we had was the daily Navigator. We used this to plan our days as well as get involved in both Character experiences and family shows (one of which I participated in).

The Oceaneer's club was awesome. Our little girl went there every day for about 2 hours sometimes longer and had a blast meeting princesses and other characters during story time and pirate dance parties. The best part was the pager and tracker which Disney provides you.

The Broadway shows were outstanding and are hard to explain. the effort the singers and actors put into the shows were fabulous.

Although we only experienced the Adult Cove twice this was so much fun. No children around and a live band playing as we relaxed in the pool and hot tub. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

The highlight of this port was the Key West Aqaurium which is a hands on experience.

We took an excursion to the Atlantis resort for this port. Although the price was a little high the trip was great. As we drove through the city we got to see the edge of Nassau. The Atlantis was an awesome experience except for the price of the food. The slides were so much fun. The highlight was the lazy river with rapids. We just loved this.
