My wife and I are originally from New England, so we felt very fortunate to have sailed on the inaugural 'Enchantment of the Seas' "New England / Canada" journey from Baltimore. A few pointers about on and off procedures might help save the next group from spending seemingly endless hours waiting in unnecessary lines. As of that trip, the Port of Baltimore Authority had set aside just two (2) security screening areas to handle some 27-hundred plus vacationers trying to board. Nearby BWI/Marshall Airport boasts probably 20 times that number to aid in getting passengers on planes in a reasonable amount of time. Imagine two-thousand avid "cruisers" trying to get through security checks, at the same time. (Not a pretty scene!)  Suggestion #1: Do as our daughter and son-in-law wisely did. Get to the terminal at least an hour before the posted boarding time. Their wait to clear was about seven minutes, ours,(two hours later),was almost an hour.

In all honesty, I must confess that our Owner's Suite was not a run-of-the-mill room used just to sleep, shower and change clothes. We decided to go "first class" for our 49th wedding anniversary and RCL never let us down. The suite was reminiscent of a four star continental hotel and the amenities were superb. Oversized abundence. Enough said. Luxurious Owner's Suite" cabin. 12 feet from bridge, so very quiet. Super-sized bath/toilet area with double sinks, whirlpool bath, stand alone shower, bidet and commode. Extremely comfortable bed. Over sized balcony with two comfortable "chaise-lounges". Comfortable "sitting area" with pull-out double bed, two sitting chairs and a pair of table chairs. Only a few "American" A/C power outlets. Ultra modern overhead lighting system. Two TV sets with C/D players attached. Comfortable "make-up" area and plenty of storage space.

The second "glitch" came as we were trying to dis-embark on Day 3 in Portland, ME. Apparently two of the three security machines on board chose to malfunction just as the ship pulled into port. Again, long lines with impatient tourists champing to chomp on a Lobster Salad roll. 20 minutes later, we were all on shore.
