We were two extended families (total of 11)who have traveled on RC and NCL previously. We had a great vacation with minimal complaints. The service was EXCELLENT! Stan by the pool was efficient, friendly and respectful.. "Stan, you're the man!". Aloma was our cabin steward and did a fantastic job with both of our cabins. The cabins were immaculate and we did not notice any dirt or wear and tear. Alli and Hadi were our waiters and we actually looked forward to seeing them every night. Their service was excellent, after the first night, they knew our names and most our preferences. That being said, we hated that we were not all at the same table despite requests by both of our travel agents and repeated requests when on board. This combined with our growing dislike of our choice of "late" seating were our only two dining complaints. We LOVED NCL freestyle dining option, as no reservations are required. The my time dining on RC requires a nightly reservation which is why we did not choose this. Bermuda, St Maarten, St Thomas all fabulous with many excursions to choose from. We purchased bus passes ($12) on the ship for Bermuda and went to Horseshoe Bay. GORGEOUS! In St Maarten, we took a taxi van to Orient Beach for $6 pp. What a beautiful spot. We followed some advice we were given and walked down the beach a bit to a gentleman at a business named String Beach, where we rented 4 chairs, 2 umbrellas and received 4 free drinks for $16. He had a restroom we could use. We had lunch there and it was delicious and reasonably priced (cheeseburger and club sandwich @$8, 6 beers for $15). He gave us noodles to use in the crystal clear water. I hand fed angel fish. The nudity was minimal and there were initially residents trying to sell you beads, hair braiding, aloe massages, CD's etc but not high pressure and went away within the first hour. Well worth putting up with for the beautiful day we spent there. In St Thomas, we went on a RCCL excursion with Adventure Catamaran (Captain Johnny, Adrianne and Eric)to St John and had amazing snorkling with giant sea turtles, schools of colorful fish and sting rays and a fun sail back. We'd all do it again in a heartbeat! Puerto Rico was a waste. The ship docked at 7am and you have to be back on board by 1:30pm. Nothing opens until 11:30am. There were only 10 excursions offered and NONE of them to a beach, which is what we were interested in. Should have stayed in St Thomas another day!
Adequate except for the lack of an illuminated clock! Heard many people complaining of the same thing.
