Cabin: Cove Balcony

We travel a lot and take a number of cruises each year. Carnival is our favorite cruise line. I don't like the high balconies on most ships since you are too detached from the ocean being so high, I enjoy the sounds, sights and feel of being close to the sea, so when I heard about the cove balconies we booked one right away. It was a great choice. Our cabin was clean and well taken care of as should be expected, especially on a brand new ship. Our stuard was friendly and attentive, it did seem however that he was extremely busy, we had the impression he had more cabins to clean than normal. This was the first time we were not able to get our 1st choice for dining, that being the early sitting. We are used to getting up at 4AM so to have a late dinner is not an option for us and waiting in line every night for a table with anytime dining is just not what we want to do, we like to just go to our table every night, sit down and have dinner. The staff seemed to be rushing around a lot, it seemed they had more tables to take care of. Our maitre'd was able to get us a table for early dining for the rest of the cruise on the second night, many thanks to him. The biggest concern was the space in the theater and lounges for the shows, if you don't get to the room at least 45 minutes ahead of time you might not get a seat. We were only able to get into one comedy show on the entire cruise. There was also no security in the theater and some fights broke out. One fight was between 2 older men over parking for their wheelchairs and another in the balcony between 2 women. We heard of other fights but didn't personally witness them. The theater became known as the "Hockey Arena" for the rest of the cruise.

Cabin Review

Cove Balcony

Our Cove Balcony cabin was great! It was larger than what we are used to on most ships with a nice sitting area as well as their ever so comfortable queen sized bed. We especially liked the proximity to the ocean.
