Previously Sailed on 3 NCL and 4 Carnival cruises.
Embark/Debark Embark was very long. The terminal was hot and the lines were not moving. Out of 8 previous cruises, it was the worst. We were delayed leaving the port. We were informed the ship was inspected and that the inspection created the embark issue. Debark was very quick. We were off in 15 minutes.
Service was Excellent At the pool, we were served sorbet and fruit. Dining room service very good. The last night, there was an issue with 2 steaks being switched, otherwise, it was great service.
Food Sirloin always a good selection in MDR. Lobster good. Other fish and seafood dishes, fair to average. Panini's and pasta bar great in Windfall Cafe. Excellent room service. Great yogurt parfaits, fruit smoothie and baked bananas.
Aqua Spa had good organic yogurt and fresh fruit.
Stateroom 9160 (concierge class) The veranda was wonderful. Service was great. Had canapes or fruit plate every day and fruit and fresh flowers. Room kept very clean. The decor is in need of updating. Carpert dated and needed to be replaced. Some wear and tear to fixtures and furniture. Robes were great. No pillow choice and NO FLAT SCREEN TV in our room.
Cleanliness and Decor Public areas very clean and public bathrooms. Public areas are updated. The Windfall Cafe is in need of new carpet and it seemed the area could have been cleaner. The tile floor areas were almost always dirty. I say this in consideration of 2000 walking across the floors numerous times per day.
Internet Service was very slow. Minimum package was $29.95
Visisted teh Breakers, Cliff Walk and church where JKF was married.
Bermuda Great weather. Beautiful. Suggest the transportation pass. We took the ferry and bus several times. Harbor Nights is a must. It was great fun. Nice presentation by Bermuda Guard. Food vendors, arts and craftsmen and activities for children. Appx. 30 minutes to Hamilton and 45 to St. George via the ferry. Bus service is slow as there are many stops. Tabacco Bay was beautiful. Snorkeling in Bermuda is ok. If you are not a history buff, you may not want to take the time to visit St. George. Elbow Beach and Horseshoe Bay are the most beautiful beach areas.
If this is your first Celebrity cruise, there are very few announcements and no pressure to be photographed.
There are the typical art auctions, BIN-GO and opportunities to spend money on $10 items in the gift shop!
I attended a wine tasting, cooking demonstraton and chef cook off. The wine tasting was informative. The other cooking events were average.
Sauna and T Pool are both free of charge. If you are interested in a package, they went for half price at the spa auction which was held Thursday evening in Art Auction area. The T pool showed a lot of wear and tear. It appeared to have stains or rust. I sat by the pool but did not get in.
If you are looking for night life, visit Revelations.
Late night buffet was nice.
Debark was a breeze.
I noticed very little movement other than during a thunderstorm which we passed through quickly.
Overall it was a good cruise. The ship is almost 10 years old and shows the age, in places. If you prefer new ships, it may not be the best choice for you.
