We've been cruising to Alaska since 1987 (the "Love Boat" era). This is our family's third Alaska trip with Celebrity and the second trip on Millennium. Our friends who live in another state made all travel arrangements through Celebrity. We arranged our own flights and transfers. I think it worked out very well for all of us.

In our opinion, Celebrity offers the best selection of staterooms for families that travel together. Why in the world should we have to book multiple staterooms or a suite for a family of 4 with minor children? Our friends who travelled with their elderly father would agree. Are you listening NCL, Princess or Carnival?

For Alaska cruises, we always go with an inside stateroom. Sure, we're cheap but the real reason is that around summer solstice the sky stays too light for too long. At sea, it's pretty darn cold and windy to leave the balcony door open for the ocean breezes. Besides, on a mega ship like the Millennium, there's so much to do that we tend to use the room mainly for sleeping or taking a mid-day nap. Save the extra dough for a shore excursion or two. For us, the excursions are what make the trip memorable.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 9

Cabin 09

The wet bar is a complete waste on the cruise ship and takes up valuable space. The closet is a bit cramped for 4 but adequate for 2, There are lots of drawers and there's space for empty soft sided luggage under the bed.

Cabin 7063 is sufficiently away from the elevators and stairways to be quiet yet still convenient to the upper decks.
