Wife and I just returned from a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Legend. Embarkation at Tampa is a breeze. We live just 40 minutes from the cruise port so we had our son drop us off. Check in was a snap and within 40 minutes (1130)we were on board ship enjoying lunch. We boarded with the allowable 24 bottles of Coke zero and 2 each .75L of wine.

Muster Drill. This was by far the worse part of the cruise. I know all ships are required by law to hold Lifeboat Muster drills, but this was pathetic. We arrived on time and waited for many others to finally arrive and assemble. As we were among the first to arrive, we stood in what would become the back of a five row deep mass of sweaty humanity. My wife and I are native Floridians and avid walker/joggers and she nearly was overcome by the lack of air as we stood for what seemed like an eternity to hear the same lecture we've heard on the other 6 cruises we have been on. Unless things change abruptly we have attended our last Muster Drill.

I am going to go ahead and discuss the only other minor complaints I have because the rest was sensational. The only live rock band had to play beneath the main auditorium so they could only play for an hour at a time until after the final BIG SHOW. It is hard to get much of a following and I really felt sorry for the band. They were called Celebration and we had a very enjoyable time listening and dancing when we were able to find them playing. The only other issue isn't really a Carnival issue. It's the people who save seats for those people that can't show up early enough to get their own. We are all adults here and surely we can show up and claim our own seats before a show starts. Now, if you've muddled through all that and are still reading this review, God bless you. I hate to read reviews where you know those people wouldn't be happy if someone was throwing hundred dollar bills at them. I love hundred dollar bills and I loved this entire cruise.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

Carnival Legend Cabin Number 5194

Wonderful cabin but the door to the balcony never sealed completely so you always heard the wind a little bit. Otherwise it was great. Proximity to elevators was just right. Very short walk with no added noise. Plan to book it next May so hands off!
