2nd time on a cruise. This was a 7 day to Alaska out of Seattle, first time on Princess. My husband and I went with my sister and her husband. They have been on at least 10 cruises. This is my first review, so I will try to make it concise. Rooms: We had an inside room with a single bed. I thought there was plenty of room for the two of us.Of course, the shower was tiny. Bring your own shampoo and lotion because the ones they supply smell awful. Bring your own blow dryer, theirs was weak. Our room steward was awesome. Rarely saw him but our room was always clean. Dining: We thought the food at the formal dining room was great, as was the casual dining room. Service was excellent. Spent $20 per person and ate at Sabatini's. Excellent food,(lots of it), and excellent service. Great value for the experience. The buffet was not good, food was ok, but the selection and floor layout was not even close to what is should be. Entertainment: Broadway type show was ok. Comedian was funny. We played trivia games, watched a couple of movies, went to nature talks, did some crafts. Movies under the stars was a waste of time, people were talking nearby and we couldn't hear the movie. They really pushed the art auctions. Too much. The age makeup on board was a mix of 40's,50's and 60's. Some families and a few kids. Ports: Juneau was very nice,we booked a 3 hour whale watching tour with Harvandmarvs.com, and it was worth every penny. Later walked down to view the glacier. Beautiful. Skagway was also nice, we rented a car and drove over the mountains up to Emerald Lake. Only $150 split 4 ways. The Ketchikan stopover was short,so we just walked through the town.I'm sure there were things to do but it was raining and the streets were crowded. Tracy Arm was gorgeous! We found a space on the back of the boat and stayed there hours.I thought Victoria BC was beautiful. So green. We went to the Butchart Gardens and although we didn't have a lot of time, we enjoyed ourselves. Note that when you go into port there are at least 4 other ships there at the same time. All the shops sell the same items. Salmon in one store is $5 higher than the store across the street. Most of the jewelry comes from China. Don't be fooled. All in all we had a very nice trip. A few negatives for Princess, but more positives. My sister, who is a seasoned cruiser, did not think it was a better ship than the others she had been on.

Cabin Review

Closet big, room for our 3 suitcases. Quiet. No problems at all.

Shampoo supplied smelled bad.Poor working hair dryer.
