As a veteran of many Celebrity cruises, Ive come to expect things to be done the Celebrity way on all of their ships. The Solstice was a major disappointment.

First, my luggage, packed that morning in my hotel, was destroyed. They took it to see if they could fix the crushed supports. I asked about it on the 3-6 days on the cruise and got the same answer-its at the upholsterers, I will personally check on it,etc. I didn't get an answer until in frustration at 11pm and we had left our last port and chance of buying new, I told the Guest Relations rep I would leave the ship with my stuff in 2 large garbage bags telling everyone what had happened. At 8 am, my cabin steward(THE BEST) came with his supervisor, my broken bag and apologies for what I already suspected. I understand traveling risks, but I just need a copy of the form to claim it on my travel insurance. I explained that to the supervisor along with the bluff that I was meeting with the captain that afternoon and Guest Relations was on my hit list for causing me anxiety over wondering HOW Id get through Customs with a Hefty bag. Long story short, I got a new case and I'm thankful, but I felt I earned it over the way they strung me along for 6 days.

Second- food The main dining room is way to small and poorly laid out. We were a mere 6 inches from the next table!! No kidding! Our waiter was great, but his assistant was slow. Ronny the wine steward saved the day by keeping me in Chablis. They have a new McCelebrity( stuff they serve anytime) menu in addition to the daily specials which weren't that special. Tuscan Grill is where its at for great food. Murano was exceptional as well if you can get a reservation. Pass on the Asian. Ewww.

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

Cabin 1028 is handicapped access. It was the best ever except for the temperamental self closing door. Don'T take off your clothes until you're SURE its closed.
