The ship seems to be really on top of trying to control MRSA and nosocomial infection with multiple hand sanitizer stands and dispensers throughout the ship. That's plus. Another plus is having a crew member stand at the entrance to the Aloha Buffet during peak hours with a spray bottle filled with sanitizer to spray the hands of everyone coming into the buffet. I also like the fact that there was a dining area just for kids with lower tables and small chairs and highchairs...Winnie the Pooh themed. Having a liquid soap dispenser instead on bar soap at the cabin bathroom sink is also a good idea. Very, very good idea about the "Sharps Trap" containers for needles, to eliminate having used needles in the regular room trash, and to prevent the chance of a needle stick to the crew members emptying the trash and processing the ship's garbage. Just ask for one in Medical on Deck 3, or at the Guest Services Desk. You can also get sea/motion sickness pills from Guest Services, just for the asking. Great idea.

Great ideas aside, there are areas that I feel require greater attention.

While I was very pleased with both the food quality and service in the Lazy J Specialty Restaurant, overall, I was disappointed with the food quality in the main dining room, buffet, and Cadillac Diner and other food . Food was bland and dry and/or tough. In the main dining room, there was a constant push for bar drinks by roving cocktail pushers. As soon as one request for cocktails was declined, there was another person coming by to ask the same thing... quite annoying. I could see throughout the ship and in my cabin, areas where housekeeping attention to detail was not evident (film, splatter stains, dust bunnies, grime/dirt in corners, plates and silverware with food debris. Every effort should be made to make the ship sparkle prior to embarkation of each cruise. People understand that sea spray and cruising grime occurs, but a cursory glossing under the guise of cleaning is not very hard to miss.
