This was my second trip aboard the Destiny and as usual, the service was attentive and the crew was outstanding. Overall the cruise was a big hit with some of the first time cruisers we had with us. The adventure began with the flight to Ft. Lauderdale. I used SAS transfers that more than a few people from this board raved about. I have to say, this is the only service I will use from now on. I went on their website and filled out the simple request form. I got a confirmation and a phone number to call upon arrival in less than 24 hours. My flight landed in Ft. Lauderdale at 10:30AM. Once I collected my luggage, I gave Steve a call and they were there in less than 10 minutes. The ride was less than 30 minutes. I was ready to board at 11:15AM. I had to wait for the rest of my party to arrive and we went through initial screening about noon. Carnival has now going to a Kiosk check in that is simple and easy, pull up your reservation, swipe your credit card, get a reciept, pick up your Sign and Sail and off to the ship.

Once onboard, we wnt right to the Lido for lunch. As usual there were plenty of really good things to eat. The pasta salads, fresh mixed greens and fruit were all great. Back down to the cabin. We met Leo our cabin steward. Top notch guy and a great personality. We had an aft balcony extended cabin, 7316. This was a great cabin IMHO. We had 2 chairs a table and a lounger. This was truly a large balcony. The only thing about the cabin that needs improvement is the size of the bathrooms. It can be a bit tight. I did enjoy the wall of closets in this cabin. More room than we needed.

This was the first time that I had contacted the Ocean Players Club to see what amenities they could offer me for this cruise. I was really happy when I arrived in the cabin and found 2 bottles of water. Later that day, a HUGE basket of fruit arrived with a ton of fresh fruits. Apples, grapes, bananas, kiwi, oranges and pears. There were also several varieties of cheeses, crackers, almonds and a good bottle of wine. The package also included 500 points for the slot machines, and a $15.00 coupon for a photo. I was very impressed.
