We booked on a whim for our Silver Wedding, 10 months before our anniversary when we couldn't find a last min deal for our summer hols. It was the best thing we could have done. We joined the members meet n mingle thread and spent the next 10 months reading review after review having a roller coaster journey of preparation. We learned lots of valuable tips Thanks Cruise Critic.
Thanks to the Ash cloud the week or so before our cruise was a rougher ride than the ship ever was (the ship was soooo stable you would not know your afloat!!!). At the last min RCCI decided not to take the risk of the Scottich airports being closed again and laid on a coach from Glasgow airport but the thought of a 13 hour bus journey did not appeal so we upped stix and drove the day before and stayed in a Holiday Inn Express with parking. It was the only down part of the trip as we lost our flights and had to pay for petrol and hotel. (the plane did go as planned!!!! mius the majority of the Scottish contingent!!) But it was not worth missing our hols.
OK The ship!!!!! WAW our first sight was from the parking place across the estury it was huge and very exciting. Embarkation was a breeze and we were on the ship around 1130 to browse and have our first meal of many!!!!! We got to our inside cabin around 130 and it was spotlessly clean and a place we were happy to call home for 14 days. It was decorated(as arranged by me) prior to finding it and the happy anniversary plaque on the door was a bonus for the first few days as it made finding our room easier!!!!
Good cabin slight noise from storage are next door not enough to disturb.
