Many of the reviews here claim the Celebrity Millennium is a fantastic cruise for more "mature" cruisers, and not for the younger age brackets. I'm 18, and my brother and sister are 20, and we all had an excellent time, along with our ageless parents. EMBARKATION: This is the 6th cruise my family has gone on, and the embarkation was no smoother nor slower than any other lines, as far as I could tell. We walked right up (only a short line) and right on. Though we were told embarkation began at noon, we arrived between 11:30 and noon, and were allowed on. Many others had already gotten on, as well. STATEROOMS: I've stayed in rooms from Deluxe Veranda Suites to Inside Rooms on various lines, and on this cruise my brother, sister, and I shared an inside room. It wasn't spacious by any means of the imagination, but it also wasn't cramped. There was plenty of storage space for all 3 of us, though the bathroom was TINY and difficult to move around in. Don't even talk about sharing. My parents had a balcony room directly across the hall, which was convenient. PUBLIC ROOMS: The lounges were very nice, though some didn't have enough or large enough windows for my taste. I spent a great deal of time reading in the Cosmos lounge, because that is where the view was best. The Rendezvous Lounge was a comfortable place to sit and be entertained, and there was an abundance of chairs. My sister and I spent time in the card room playing with puzzles, though at times it was too crowded. The library was cozy, though there were no windows. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, usually with pleasant music playing. When the ship was in port, it was possible to have a lounge nearly entirely to oneself. There are plenty of elevators, though the central elevators are strangely located off to the side, instead of across from the stairs, which took some getting used to. ENTERTAINMENT: There was always plenty to do on the Millennium, from large productions to trivia to Bingo. I can't say enough good things about the Celebrity productions, though the first was merely OK, with the second and third much improved. The dancing was so high-energy it made me tired, and the singing was very good as well. The vocal talent was very noticeable during some songs. All of the dancers seemed likeable, and were more "around" the ship than on other cruises, so that I could have gotten to know them if I wanted to. One comedian's jokes were for older audiences, from before my time. The magician didn't impress me the first night, because I had seen many of his tricks, but the second time was great. Humorous and his final trick was so much better than "great," though I'm running out of adjectives. Milos provided entertaining and informative talks; he made learning interesting and funny. Carl Williams is an amazing vocalist; he cannot be missed. Ask him to sing "Delilah." He and his drummer were also quite amusing. To take the words of another reviewer, my siblings and I stalked North by Northwest. Extremely talented entertainers, and also very entertaining. :) As for gambling and Bingo, I didn't participate. Rich was one of my favorite cruise directors ever, and the rest of the cruise director staff were great, especially Holly and Daniel. FOOD: Breakfast in the buffet was always delicious. I love how they had an Asian Breakfast; the eggs with peanut sauce...mmmmmm. Sometimes it could be crowded and difficult to find a seat, though the servers were always VERY nice. Breakfast in the dining room was the same everyday, with no daily specials, which was slightly disappointing. I would only eat the buffet if I went back on the Millennium. We usually ate lunch in the buffet, which was tolerable. I ate pizza most often, which isn't something I want to do on a cruise. Desserts were always sublime. Dinner was also wonderful, above reproach. Almost every dinner was as perfect as possible; only one night I disliked my entree. Portions were also admirable. Instead of too much, just enough was given. My sister openly admired Celebrity's attempts to reduce wasted food, which more cruise lines should pick up. I ate enough to be full without being uncomfortably stuffed. SERVICE: As fantastic as every other aspect of this cruise was, the people were what made it so wonderful. Our room steward was the best one we've had in 6 cruises. He was sociable and helpful, and always willing to find solutions to our problems. If we saw him when heading back to our room, he would open the door for us. Our dinner servers were also charming and likeable, more so on the Millennium than on other ships. However, our server had a table that had special meals every night, so sometimes we sat and waited for a long time to get our next course. Servers from other areas would come and help him out. They were all SO NICE though, I really didn't mind, though my mom and sister lamented the slow service. When we specifically told him we wanted to go to the 8:00 show on the first night, he got us out in time. Once, on formal night, the shower head in our room broke before my sister could get ready, so all three of us had to get ready in the parents' room, thank goodness they were there (and right across the hall). My brother called it in, but they didn't fix it until we were at dinner, which would have been problematic if we didn't have another shower so readily available. Though I'm sure if we'd asked, they would have fixed it sooner. DISEMBARKATION: We had a wildlife tour in Seward on the final day, and when my mom told them, they let us disembark early. Quick and efficient.
