My family consisting of my husband, my mom, and my sister, my daughter (10) and my son (12) embarked in Miami with little or no problem. We arrived around 1:00 and spent a total of about 30 minutes and we were on board. It might have helped that my mom was in a wheelchair.
We went directly to our room (promenade room). It was very small. The king bed took up most of the room. There was probably only 1 foot between the end of the bed.. and the wall of the room. In addition, there is little to no storage so pack light if this is the kind of room you are staying in. My kids had an adjoining room that had the same specs. Thank goodness there was no sharing because we wouldn't have made it the whole week! The bathroom was small too. The shower looked very small at first but it was OK once you close the circular shower doors. My husband is a bigger man and he wasn't too happy with it, said you can barely move in there. My mom and sister had a balcony cabin that had a bit more room and the same bathroom. The balcony was incredible and if I had been paying for the trip, I would definitely recommend it!
After we dropped the luggage, we headed for lunch at the Windjammer. The food was just okay. We were surprised by the aggressiveness of other passengers (butting in front and pushing and shoving). We are from Georgia and used to southern hospitality so this was hard to take. (BTW, it happened everywhere where there were crowds).
