Background Information

My husband won this 7-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Legend for the two of us. We are frequent travelers, in our thirties, DINKs. My husband had sailed on NCL, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean before. I had sailed on Royal Caribbean. This was my first experience on Carnival as well as my first cruise longer than 4 days. Because we won this cruise from a casino, we had some special treats in our room from the Carnival Players Club as well as a "free drinks in the casino" sticker on our room key. I'm going to exclude those amenities from consideration in this review, because most people won't get those benefits. Embark/Disembark Embarking and disembarking was a breeze. Some of that may have been facilitated by our group. I do think the smaller overall size of Tampa's port helped.
