Sail Date: Jun 2010

My husband and I cruised out of Ft. Lauderdale on the Celebity Solstice on June 6th, two days shy of our 25th wedding anniversary. The ship was beautiful and the service was top notch. Our balcony stateroom was much better than expected, had plenty of storage and a comfortable amount of room, at least for two people. We took our own bottled water and seltzer and were glad to have the seltzer, but bottled water was not necessary. The tour operators passed out water on every tour and we left a mostly full case of water on the boat. If we do a Celebrity cruise again, we would not take as many dressy clothes, since the dinner attire was more "requested" than "mandatory". May people showed up on formal night in golf shirts and we saw people shirtless in the buffet area every night. We, also, would never recommend the specialty restaurants, unless you are REALLY wanting a lot of privacy and pampering. The food was just as good in the main dining hall at no extra charge. And the spa was especially disappointing due to the fact that we were overcharged and got nothing short of a huge run-around from customer service when we tried to get a partial refund. The food was exemplary, though, and there was plenty to do on the ship, with three pools, an exercise room, free on-demand movies, a casino and shops, etc... Wish they had served biscuits with breakfast, had snack foods like popcorn and pretzels (for the nights we watched movies in our room) and self-serve ice machines so we didn't have to ask for ice every day, but those were minor inconveniences and we would definitely do it again.

Cabin Review

Plenty of storage, nicely decorated, flat screen tv with lots of cool features. Nice view and close to elevators.
