We sailed on March 22 on the Carnival Destiny. We were in cabin 9201 on the Lido deck which accomodated three people (2 lowers and an upper berth) and had a balcony. The cabin was adequate size for the three of us and the beds were super comfortable and we loved having a balcony. Once you cruise with one, you always want to have one! I was worried it would be noisy on that deck, but you couldn't hear any noise from the pool area when you were in your cabin. It was great being so close to the pool area, food, fitness center, and teen center. Our cabin stewards were great and made the best towel animals.

We flew down the day before and stayed in Ft. Lauderdale at the Hyatt Place South. We were picked up at our hotel at 10:45 by Quality Limo Service and at the Port of Miami within 30 minutes. We went through security quickly and checked in and got our ship cards. We waited a short time and were on board the ship by noon. We had lunch and were able to get into our cabin by 2PM.

We ate in the Galaxy Dining Room for dinner and had a table with just the three of us. The food was delicious and there was always a good variety on the menu each night as well as a couple of set items (chicken and steak) available every night. The chocolate melting cake for dessert was one of our favorites. The food in the Sun and Sea Restaurant on the Lido deck was excellent as well for breakfast and lunch. There were generally long lines there, but at lunchtime, we generally headed to the grill or pizzeria which was way on the back deck on this ship and generally had little or no line. I think a lot of people didn't know it was back there. The pizza was yummy with several different kinds available. We also had our share of the ice cream and frozen yogurt. The machine on the back deck by the grill had strawberry as well as vanilla and chocolate. We did have breakfast a couple of mornings in the Universe Dining Room and enjoyed the service and relaxed and quiet surroundings.
