We had a real adventure getting to the cruise terminal in Vancouver - we live a short (1 hr 35 min) ferry ride from Vancouver and took the Greyhound bus so we didn't pack like we usually do with essentials in our carry-on to make it through if something happens to the luggage. Who would have guess the bus would break down on the ferry and there'd be no air pressure to open the luggage bays! They tried in vain to get our luggage for us but we ended up going with no luggage - it finally caught up to us on day 4 in Juneau.

Princess was wonderful when they found out our luggage hadn't come with us - they gave us emergency toiletries, lent us formal wear for the formal night free of charge, and laundered our clothes every night free of charge.

We had one sea day then it was off to the races -- first stop was Ketchikan where we had to try to find some warmer clothes - it was rainy and windy that day - it was a good job we'd been there 3 times previously so I wasn't too disappointed that we couldn't do the touristy thing this time.
